Professor Zhang Shuyi, member of the Communist Party of China, Doctoral Supervisor of China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) and distinguished administrative jurist, died of illness at 10:24 a.m. (Beijing time/GMT 2:24 a.m.) on January 20, 2017 in the United States at the age of 63.

Professor Zhang Shuyi is an important pioneer of Administrative Law in the P.R. China and a major participant in the construction of Administrative Law discipline of CUPL. He had devoted himself to higher education. Professor Zhang has produced plentiful works. Imparting knowledge and educating people, he has trained a large number of talents for the Chinese jurisprudential circle and legal practice sectors. The university extends deep condolences to his death.
