China Administrative Law Society (CALS) Proposes Nine Suggestions on the Amendments of the Wild Animal Conservation Law

Professor Ma Huaide, President of China Administrative Law Society (CALS) and President of China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL), organized a research group composed of experts and scholars from the Institute of Law, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), Tsinghua University, CUPL, Sydney University of Australia and other institutions, to discuss the amendments of the Wild Animal Conservation Law. The group has translated and sorted out relevant international conventions on wildlife legislation, and collected relevant provisions on wild animal conservation from more than 10 countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France, the European Union, Italy, Russia, Brazil, Japan, South Korea, and China (Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan included). The group has also carefully studied relevant provisions at home and abroad, and put forward some suggestions on the amendments of the Wild Animal Conservation Law, as well as the measures to control the abuse of wildlife and illegal trading.
