In the afternoon of July 9, 2022, the kick-off meeting of the research project “‘Suzhou Sample’ of Social Governance Modernization in megalopolises”, sponsored by China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) and the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of Suzhou Municipal Committee, was successfully held in Beijing. More than 20 leaders and experts from the National People’s Congress, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, the Ministry of Justice, Peking University, Renmin University of China, and CUPL attended the online conference. The participants discussed the “Suzhou sample” of social governance modernization in megalopolises online focusing on issues including the experience of social governance in Suzhou, key tasks and difficulties, etc.
