In the afternoon of April 28, the 109th Law-based Government Forum was held at the Xueyuanlu campus of China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL). Prof. Benjamin L. Liebman of Law School of Columbia University, Director of Chinese Law Center, was invited to give a lecture on “Big Data in Chinese Court Judgments: How to Use Text as Data”. Judge Xue Feng, Member of the Trial Committee and Chief Judge of the Administrative Tribunal of Beijing NO.1 Intermediate People's Court, Judge Liu Hang, Associate Chief Judge of the Administrative Tribunal of Beijing Municipal Higher People's Court, Associate Prof. Geng Lin, Law School of Tsinghua University, Dr. Li Xiaoguo from Judicial Case Research Institute of the Supreme People's Court, and Prof. Lin Hongchao of the School of Law-based Government (SLBG) of CUPL were commentators. The Forum was moderated by Associate Prof. Zhao Peng, Deputy Dean of the SLBG.
